Join CCF Minnesota’s Admin Team for the first in a series of conversations for aspiring white allies on White Supremacy Culture and the Community Centric Fundraising movement on March 19th at noon. This Zoom gathering offers an opportunity for white folks to deepen understanding about the CCF Movement’s mission as well as learn about racial caucusing and why our CCF organizes in racial caucuses. Then we’ll make space for discussion about how we can carry CCF work forward as aspiring white allies.

Facilitators for this conversation are part of the CCF Minnesota Admin Team including Alexandrea Kouame, Chris Olson, Jon Lipp, and Meredith Bruster. Whether you’ve been active with the CCF movement in the past or are totally new to CCF, all are welcome.

CCF 101 - The Whys, The Hows, The “Tea” of it All

11:30 am - 1 pm CT

Register Here!

Kick off your professional new year with a “lunch & learn” session about the history and principles of Community-Centric Fundraising (CCF) and how the Minnesota chapter got started. We’re organizing a panel of tremendously experienced speakers to inspire you to consider new ways of reimagining fundraising.

We’ll hear from the incomparable Michelle Shireen Muri, founder of Freedom Conspiracy, Co-Chair of the founding Seattle chapter for CCF, and host of The Ethical Rainmaker podcast. Muri will talk about why she and a number of BIPOC colleagues in the Pacific Northwest birthed the movement together back in 2018. Learn the whys and hows related to the original group of organizers who felt this fundraising paradigm shift was gravely overdue. Courtney Backen, Director of Community & Capacity Development at GiveMN, was one of the locally based CCF organizers here in Minnesota. Backen will speak to how our regional chapter got up and running, and how she continues to influence the profession using her state-wide platform. And Clara Jung, a premier fundraising coach at Aligned Strategy Group will act as moderator while framing questions that can help us understand the practical application of the CCF values and principles.

Please register using the link below to receive the Zoom link and review a list of preliminary readings.

Led by Mary Delorié

How does community-centric fundraising show up in the written word when we're communicating directly with donors? This conversation will focus on donor emails, solicitation letters, annual reports, and other nonprofit communications that are geared towards a donor audience. There is a way in which development staff can create spaces for donor education and engagement, while spotlighting narratives that lift the work and successes of the community programming we support. Bring a piece for constructive critique or celebration to be workshopped in a small group setting.
